JOG Yacht Racing joins the world in mourning following Buckingham Palace’s announcement that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away.
The United Kingdom’s longest serving monarch, having reigned for 70 years, gave remarkable service to the UK and the Commonwealth.
The thoughts of everyone at JOG are with the Royal Family.
JOG has carefully considered its position regarding the forthcoming races to Poole and return over the weekend.
We have decided to continue with some alterations. To mark our respect, we will announce and observe a two-minute silence prior to racing on Saturday. Our planned prizegiving and social gathering at Poole will not be held.
Competitors are requested to fly a black flag (or alternative material), if possible, alongside their class flag and be at the starting area in time for the two -minutes silence that will be held at the scheduled first start time (07:30 hrs).
JOG respects the decision by any of its members not to race and, on application, prior to the scheduled start time, to the Secretary, will refund in full race entry fees incurred for the weekend to those so deciding.
