WOMEN'S SAILING SERIES

SUPPORTING WOMEN'S YACHT RACING

Over recent years, women’s participation in JOG has continued to grow, with women now making up just under a quarter of all competitors across both our coastal and offshore racing programmes. That progress reflects the commitment, confidence and enthusiasm of women racing throughout the JOG fleet — often as part of strong, supportive mixed gender crews.

To build on that momentum, and to celebrate the achievements of yachts sailing with significant female representation onboard, JOG is proud to introduce the Women’s Sailing Series, sponsored by Nautical Cloud. The Series runs alongside the existing racing programme, recognising performance while encouraging continued participation in coastal and offshore racing.

Scoring

An eligible yacht’s score will be the total of her best five race scores. The winner of the Women’s Sailing Series will be the boat with the highest total score. A yacht may count any 5 of the 17 coastal and offshore races in the 2026 JOG programme

Calculation of Points: For each race, eligible yachts will be ranked irrespective of their class according to their corrected time. Points will subsequently be awarded according to the JOG Points Scoring System set out in Appendix 2 of the JOG 2026 Notice of Race

Ties will be broken in favour of the highest single race score. Where a tie remains, it will be broken in favour of the next highest, and so on.

Results and Prizes

As the season unfolds, competitors will be able to follow the results of the Women’s Sailing Series.

An end of season prize will be awarded to the first three places in the Women’s Sailing Series by Series sponsor, Nautical Cloud.
